why most women dislike cooking
May 26th, 2006
While we were cooking dinner, my wife, feeling drained after a day’s work at office, asked me: “Shall we get a tiffin caterer for a month?”
She has been labouring in the kitchen for the years since she became a home-maker after our third child was born. Her cooking has improved greatly. And now she wants to hang up her kaoli and kung-fu.
I would suppose thousands of women in Singapore are thinking and feeling the same way. Can someone tell me,
“Why do most women of today dislike cooking?”

Women takes every effort to prepare a nice meal for the family. She properly have to shop for the vegetables and meat too. A lot of time spend on preparation and in the end the food finished at one go. Sometimes, she also landed up washing the plates, pots and pants after meal herself.
Some working women properly cook one meal a day that is the dinner but after a hard days work, they feel too tired to cook. On the other hand a home-maker properly have to prepare three meals a day which is even more tiring. Thats the reason why sometimes they want a break either to cater or eat out.
I cater because there is only three members in my family. Both my husband and I work full time and sometimes we work late. If we cannot come home in time, than my son can just cooked rice and have his own meal. That saves us from worrying and the hassle on what dishes to cook daily.
