first steps in preparation
Last week I started to make preparations for the sermon series on 1 & 2 Thessalonians due in three weeks time. The first steps were really tough and dry as I prayed and sought to let the text speak to my personal life first. I could feel the Word that is sharper than a two-edged sword piercing where no human word can pierce. Paul had such a passionate and affectionate love for the church he planted. I couldn’t bluff God and I stood soul-naked and fallen short before him. My only hope: the Christ who lived in Paul, lives in me too. May His love permeate my life in the same way. “Lord, help me to see the epistles as Gospel promise not condemning law.”
I then took a look at a commentary by Warren Wiersbe and it shed some light and sparked some ideas for the first passage I was meditating and feeding on: 1 Thess chapter 1.
“Lord help me , anoint me , reveal truth, give me Your message for Your people.” Pray for me please.
