Ted Haggard
Alas another fallen leader…… Ted Haggard, one of TIME magazines 25 most influential Christians in the U.S. I dread to think of the fall-out and disillusionment it will cause. (For more information about this click here Christianity Today.)
This and other incidents of the past show the heady dangers of high-profile ministry. Pastors are human too and we all need to take heed lest we ourselves fall. At the same time lets be encouraged that there are many others who like Billy Graham, Jack Hayford, and George Verwer, stayed faithful to God too.
Yet I can’t help but notice that it is the Pentecostal-Charismatic stream that seem more vulnerable to such falls? Is it something about the culture, the pressures and expectations, or the kind of spirituality upheld? Or what?
