selamat hari raya adilfitri
I wish all Muslims a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. May the festive season be a blessed one for all. Something I like about their holiday is the customary asking of forgiveness among family members. If done with sincerity it can be very healing. Nothing like that in the Chinese festivals. For Christians it should be daily in our prayers (’Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us’) and as often as we take bread together and ‘discern’ the unity of the body of Christ. Can a ritual be cultivated among Christians where we ask forgiveness from our parents, whether Christian or non-Christians? Chinese New Year? Ching Ming?
