The Lord’s Prayer in Syriac Aramaic
October 20th, 2007
Beautifully sung prayer in syriac aramaic, probably the closest modern equivalent we can get to the Lord’s prayer. It certainly gives us a sense of the middle-eastern origin of our faith.

This is nice, and I like the tranquility. It’s a pity I don’t understand the original lyrics other than rely on the translation. THanks for sharing.
this is what i found, after being intrigued by your Aramaic Syriac Lords Prayer song. (see my Blogpastor Interview comment)
http://abwoon.com/LordsPrayerinAramaic.html
go/scroll right to the bottom of that page, kenny. there you will find a line-by-line aramaic pronunciation of the Lords Prayer. turn your volume on. hopefully you have QuickPlay software to hear it.
so far I can only memorize the 1st line. maybe thats why i always got P- (or was it F??)for Greek.
but me thinks the abwoon group practises some kind of middle-eastern mysticism thingy or something.
Could it be you like it because of your Syrian-Jacobite roots of the MarThoma church you grew up?
