gloria in excelsis deo
It had been my secret prayer since I can’t remember when……the 80’s(?). When I read about it, or heard about it, I would raise my desires to God in prayer. Yesterday’s prayers can be answered very suddenly. On about two occasions I had calls about such things, but nothing transpired. This time I had the e-mail in my hand, and my heart skipped a bit, and I felt excited. It was an Omega Tours special discounted trip to the Holy
Land for pastors. ‘Was it for real?’, I hesitated. ‘Are you in this Lord?’ because I sensed possibility. So I asked the Lord to confirm. On Saturday, a trekker talked about it, and on Sunday I read somebody’s memorial magazine and it talked about how he loved to lead trips to the Israel. That’s it…..my wife was excited too. The amazing thing was that while I was in Nepal trekking, two couples, and later an individual I do not know, gave us sufficient for the trip. Very few knew about it. Yet the Lord moved hearts; I was touched and very grateful to them and most of all to the Lord. John the beloved said, “Out of his fullness we have all received, blessing after blessing”(John1). So in late February, my wife and I, go with joyful hearts, into our ‘promised land’. I want to feel, see and touch the land on which my Lord Jesus walked during the days of his flesh.
Yesterday’s prayers are today’s realities;
and today’s prayers are tomorrow’s realities!
This is a trustworthy saying; worthy of full acceptance.
