should Ronaldo leave Manchester United?
June 19th, 2008
It was a father’s day gift and I was delighted when my son bought an Arsenal jersey (the real thing) even though it was last season’s. Yes, I wonder if I will get to wear this with pride at the end of the coming season. It looks like good players are leaving beloved Arsenal and being hunted by huge clubs with offers of huge pay rises, while hardly any exciting players are being bought by Arsene Wenger. The comforting news is that Ronaldo is a big transfer target of Real Madrid, as we all
know the cliche’: Real always gets what it wants! Is it better for Ronaldo to move from Man U to Real Madrid? My opinion is yes! yes! yes! yes!yes! why so? Let me give you ten good reasons:
1. He has won everything with Manchester United already: the elusive double of EPL Championship and UEFA Championship. He’s reached the mountaintop. Next challenge is to win the double with another club.
2. Arsenal will have a better chance to win the EPL championship.
3. He gets to leave dreary and damp Manchester and see the sun again.
4. He will save his legs from the English leg-choppers: remember Eduardo!
5. It gives Arsenal a better chance of winning the EPL Championship in the coming season. Manchester United without Ronaldo’s 40 plus goals means second or third.
6. Real Madrid will pay him for what he is really worth.
7. His legs will be fresher for Portugal in the next World Cup because the Spanish league plays less games than the EPL.
8. He can avoid the notorious “hair dryer” treatment of Ferguson. In Real Madrid they will assign him a personal hairdstylist.
9. Rooney will look a better player.
10. Arsenal will have a better chance to clinch the EPL Championship next year.

I agree he has nothing to win for in MU. If he goes, others will shine like Rooney and Tevez. MU plays as a team and with or without Ronaldo, Arsenal will not have a chance. Furthermore there is another bigger club like Chelsea.
He might not succeed in Real as there are too many stars there. Sir Alex has been very gracious to let him play almost every game. Do you think he has a chance to take all the penalties for Real? Rudd Van is the player man. He is able to escape Alex’s hairdrying treatment but he will turn into a party animal with no control over drinking and prostitutes. A gem may turn into trash with no discipline..sigh sad sad day for MU if it is true.
Anyway back to Father’s day. It is never easy to be a Father of teenager and thank God for your amazing children.
Yes the kids are wonderful. Thank God for them. They bless me so much.
Regarding Chelsea, I am afraid Scholari may inspire the team to the heavens. But with so many changes afoot for team and player and manager and staff, I think it is not unreasonable to expect a period of loss of momentum and therefore a time of rebuilding, yah? So maybe third? or fourth?
With two Portuguese leaving, and Ferguson leaving, and Scholes and Giggs only shadows of their glorious best, maybe Man U should be satisfied with second, yah?
And kindly let Arsenal wear the crown for a year. Boleh tak?
Man Utd does not have a good winger in their reserves, so if they do sell Christiano Ronaldo, they would have to go shopping for a replacement, which would defeat the purpose. It’s not just the skill, but also the commercial value of having a star player in their ranks. Which other player sells more shirts for Man Utd? Rooney? have a feeling that he would be sold though… with all the hype going on. There is no smoke without a fire.
But if I were Ronaldo, I would move. The increase in salary is really good. Even if he goes to Real Madrid for a few years and gets drop into the reserve, he would have already have earned more then if he stayed on at Man Utd for the rest of his career.
Hi Blogpastor, this isn’t actually relevant to this post but thought I’d put it here anyway. My feedreader picked up a post you wrote entitled, “what’s happening in Lakeland, Florida?” but when I followed the link, it says that the page could not be found. Anyway, I can’t remember if I did or did not previously post a comment asking your thoughts on that. Although I have wanted to. (Hence the not remembering if I actually did ask or not.) But, I would love to hear your thoughts if possible.
Yes I wrote the post but removed it after the video didn’t play. Yes I am still watching some of the Lakeland revival videos. Hope to embed a video or two and obtain comments from blog visitors.
Portsmouth, Aston villa, Yeovil or maybe Tampines Rovers should win the premier league. This is of course nonsense.
But wouldnt it be fun if a poor team wins the league instead of these monster-financed-foreign-made-truncated things called Chelsea and Man. Utd (oh dear… better take cover before the plates start flying).
As for Ronaldo…Yeah make the mega bucks in Read Madrid, then come to Singapore, get PR and play for the Singapore team. Now!!! that would be a real challenge for our curly haired wonder boy.
yea, i think ronaldo will leave. there’s no more challenges in the EPL and there’s a bigger paycheck at real madrid (plus it feels more like home there). well, as an arsenal fan, it still baffles me what wenger is doing at the moment(in terms of getting players). samir nasri? do we honestly need another playmaker/striker? sorry for digressing but i really think arsenal should get an experienced and high quality centre back, a good DM, and some high flying winger. i would love to have a tony adams, patrick viera and marc overmars. oh no - i’m talking about past glory days again. wake up arsenal!
oh, back to the point, maybe ronaldo should leave and join arsenal. that’ll at least provide some challenges for him. but the wage structure police will step in and make sure he joins Real for the big monthly ang pow. gosh, i think i am reading lamentations in the ‘arsenal bible’. wail, cry, weep. i hope i didn’t waste my money on next season’s jersey.
p.s. i feel sick after watching turkey’s win over croatia. the cruelty of soccer.
Hi Jason
Nobody likes the thought of it, but in the end, at the final game, German “precision engineering” will suffocate Spanish flair and pretensions. Remember how Greece (with German coach) defeated a creative Portugal (with Brazilian coach).
I don’t see Russia beating Spain; and Spain cannot help but choke at the final hurdle.
Eh Pastor K, your reason 2,5 and 10… aren’t they all the same?? Haha!
For Arsenal to win EPL, they must be willing to fork out more money lah, if not hor, all these talk of winning the championship will be just ‘Chey dai pao’ only!
On another note, if Real Madrid (those Spanish pricks!) willing to part 80 million pounds for Ronaldo, as a MU fan, I would say: “SELL! SELL!! SELL!!!” C’mon… 80 million pounds man! That’s a profit of 67.2 million pounds!!
Even with Ronaldo gone, I am sure with that obscene load of money, plenty of world-class players will be begging to jump into the jolly-rich red ship, and with the addition of a couple of them, they will be able to more than make up for the lost of Ronaldo.
Hello!,
Good day!,
Hi!,
