when you don’t feel like praying
Every now and then (some people say, most of the time), we just don’t feel like praying. What do we do then?
Most young people find Christian music soothing and inspiring, a helpful way to connect with God. Maybe I am not a music kind of person. I hardly use this to help me. When I am stuck and not in a mood to pray, I may…..
….use the Lord’s Prayer.
…. pray in tongues
…..journal my prayers. I write my prayers. I do an examen on paper.
…… use a psalm that offers a suitable avenue for me to express my emotions.
………go outdoors and just sit silently (”here am I, Lord”).
…. ask my wife to join me in intercession.
….walk and pray.
……go to Norman Wong’s set prayers.
….just read my daily portion of the Gospels, meditaite and pray ANYWAY!
