Busy Months Preparing for a Church Camp

It has been a packed two months. Most of it has to do with preparing myself and messages for a church camp in Bali. Preparing messages is hard work, especially when they are created from scratch. Of course, with experience, many of the subtopics are familiar, which helps. I was blessed in that a friend Vee San, who works in Sheffield and returned for vacation after CNY, bought me a book and its companion guide. It had to be God-arranged that the book dealt with the camp theme of discipleship. I read it with joy and thanksgiving. Last week, I finally completed all the messages in full script and am still working on refining the PowerPoint slides.

On Friday, I fly off. Bali requires a few procedures before travel: ASEAN visa fast clearance QR code, health declaration, and airport tax. I land there in the afternoon, and I hit the ground running with the first session on that very evening. Three messages to be delivered on Saturday, and the final one on Sunday. Then my wife and I extended our stay there by two days. Pray for the Lord’s blessing upon the Yishun Christian Church (Anglican). I have been praying for them, the prayer of Paul for the church in Colossae, found in the epistle of Colossians 1:9-12. God hears our prayers, and I appreciate your prayers too.

On the side, I was suddenly inspired to sell a few of my lesser-used photography equipment on the Carousell platform for the first time. I must say I had a good experience. I sold three of my camera lenses and a flash. I am thankful for this free-of-charge, easy-to-use platform where pre-loved stuff can be bought and sold. I have used it to purchase bicycle gear, used camera lenses, and furniture. This is the first time I’ve sold things. It would have been nearly impossible for me to sell pre-loved stuff without Carousell. I am thankful.
