I have been reviewing my journal and reflecting on my faith journey in the past year. I would sum up my year as a year of increase.
I saw my faith growing in strength. I can trust God and his promises to me. I remind myself of his promises and act in faith, without doubting. I am less anxious and more rested in God’s faithfulness.
There have been increased opportunities to offer spiritual direction in retreats organised by Trinity Theological College and to individuals outside of retreats.
There were also more invitations to preach in the Sunday worship service of small and medium-sized churches of various denominations. I also did a church retreat in Bali.
A joyful experience of increase for me personally was the publishing of my book, “26 Gifts of Christ’s Finished Work.” My original goal was to write an e-book and offer it for free through my blog. However, God had other plans and brought Benjamin Foo, and I was persuaded to publish. Since the January launch, the 500 copies have sold out. In addition, by God’s grace, I sponsored the translation and printing of 500 copies of the book in Burmese.
I am now writing with the wind of the Spirit guiding and energising a second book. Lord, I look to you for your grace and power.
I received an increased grace in hospitality and caregiving this year. I am amazed at what he has done in and through me.
There was a health issue I became aware of in May or June. I am grateful for the way contemplative prayer has taught me to listen to my body. This led to medical checks and a successful procedure.
I prayed earnestly that God would help me decrease screen time and increase my attentiveness to him. What can I say except that I am so weak and powerless and desperately need him to empower me.
So I enter the new year 2026 with a heart of trust and a poverty of spirit, looking to God and his promises to supply me with all I need for a godly life.
